Lakeview Chalets

For guests staying  2 or more nights - Croissants, hot and freshly baked are delivered to you on your first  morning. Breakfast is included for guests staying a single night.

Kahu Chalet    -  A favourite luxurious one night chalet to escape to and you can  request Dinner. The Kahu has superior views, is ultra private and has an outdoor bath. Two storied with Queen bedroom downstairs and Double upstairs. French doors from main bedroom and lounge on to private verandah. May suit 2 couples travelling together. LCD 32" TV.

Kereru Chalet is the same two storied layout as the Kahu. Elderly or disabled guests are welcomed in the downstairs main bedroom. Upstairs triple bedroom suits up to 3 well behaved children.

Ruru and Makomako chalets are single level log style chalets and have woodburning fires. Wide opening slider doors lead from the main bedroom and lounge to the verandah. A compact twin bedroom and sofa bed in the lounge allow for up to 5 guests to sleep. Ruru also makes a private couples getaway retreat.

Our superior chalets, beautifully appointed with stunning views of the lake  and countryside allow you to self cater. Savour a drink at the end of a relaxing day as you barbeque a juicy steak or two on your private verandah while you're entertained by the birdsong amidst the sounds of country silence. 

The chalets -  Kahu, Kereru, Makomako and Ruru are named after the birds living nearby and  each has:

  • Panoramic lake, farm and bush views from inside and from undercover verandah
  • Carparking beside your chalet
  • The use of a minimum of 2 kayaks and/or rowboats with lifejackets.
  • Self containment with two bedrooms - can sleep 4 (max 5).
  • Quality carpets and contemporary furnishings in nature’s colours
  • Supremely comfortable orthopedic beds with wool underlays and quality linen
  • Well equipped kitchens with gas hob, electric frypan, quality crockery & utensils, pots & pans, microwave and small fridge. Tea/coffee welcome pack.
  • Freeview television, DVD player and a selection of recent movies
  • CD/radio and a selection of CD’s, Hairdryer, Bathrobes for  adults, conditioning shampoo and bodywash
  • Alarm clock radio, Magazines, reading and mood lighting 
  • Gas barbeque and outdoor furniture
  • Daily servicing 

Dinner at the Lodge homestead is available on request at the time of booking. We offer a set menu - $80 per person with three courses. BYO - corkage applies.    

 

Located  Near The Chalets

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through our beautiful gardens to the Games Room located at the front entrance to the Lodge homestead. Play pool, select DVD's, games, books or check your emails on your laptap with wireless internet. 

Soak in the spa pool under the stars and  nestled privately  beneath the cedars after a big day out kayaking or hiking (single party use)

The semi enclosed gazebo complete with hooded barbeque is a great way for larger groups to dine together on those magically calm country evenings.

Lake Rotorangi is a 5 minute downhill stroll from the chalets through the redwood grove.

 

Bed and Breakfast in the Lodge Homestead

Secluded and spacious upstairs queensize bedrooms with private bathrooms. Tea and coffee. A leisurely breakfast is served in the classy dining room. Dinner on request at the time of booking - $80 pp.  Beverages available or  BYO - corkage applies. Please email us for booking enquiries as this cannot be confirmed online.

 

Rustic Eco Cabin

This very basic 2 room cabin located near the lake, makes a great camping style experience for those young at heart. With no electricity, solar lighting, gas powered BBQ, indoor hot shower and toilet, you'll be at one with nature. Bring all your own linen and all supplies - right down to the loo paper and detergent.  Sleeps up to 6. Kayaks are available for hire $50 per couple. This makes for a fun and economical summertime getaway (from $50 per night per couple) and not available May to September. (Spa pool and Games Room facilities are not available to guests staying in the cabin).
